Allie & Nick are the sweetest of souls. I got to know these two over a year ago when they were newly engaged. I instantly felt like they were friends. For the year leading up to their wedding we had talked all about the details, timeline, etc. Then weeks before their big day the entire country shut down and they were forced to change their wedding plans. Allie emailed me saying they felt as though they had to jump over every obstacle just to get married… but they knew that love was going to prevail. My heart felt an instant sense of ease when I read this. This season was crazy for all my couples who had to reschedule, but it was also a whirlwind of emotions for me to face so many unknowns & reschedule so many original wedding plans… but my couples love stories are so much stronger and bigger than the pandemic. I quickly was reminded that weddings are not about all the decor or large guest count, but they are about a couple coming together, and beginning their lives together. I was reminded why I fell in love with photographing weddings in the first place. I was beyond excited to celebrate Allie & Nick because of this!
Within weeks notice, they began replanning their entire wedding. They planned to hold it in Nick’s childhood backyard with just their immediate families to witness. It was so special. When I first walked in and was greeted I knew this was going to be such an intimate and special day. Both families were so welcoming and inviting and they all were there to support Nick and Allie during this beautiful day in their lives. Their ceremony was so special as they shared vows and rings. Tears were coming down everyones cheeks… including mine! After their ceremony we went to a local park for some sunset photos then headed back to their house for dinner. They had the most delicious tamales made by a local Mexican restaurant that Nick’s family has been going to for years. The evening was full of lots of laughs & dancing. It was something so special to witness. When the world felt so chaotic, we got to hit pause for an evening and just enjoy celebrating these two lovers! I was so honored to be a part… the best part is we get to celebrate them all over again in the Spring of 2021 when they hold a larger reception.
Congrats Allie & Nick
