Kayla asked me to take some portraits of her a few months back… with schedule conflicts and what not, we weren’t able to plan her session until January. Oh boy was it worth the wait! This girls zest and adventure for life is absolutely admirable! She moved to Arizona recently as part of chasing the adventure. Through various circumstances she debated leaving the heat and heading back home to North Carolina…. but she decided to stay and seek more adventures and memories here in Arizona! Let me tell you, Arizona is so lucky to have her!
As I edited Kayla’s portrait session I kept thinking, “man I wish I was more like Kayla.” Ladies and gentlemen this girl ASKED me to do her portraits in the middle of a busy road during rush hour. Although I am always down for a good adventure, dodging cars is a big fear of mine (especially when you have a camera in front of your face!) This girl lives life on the EDGE and sometimes I really wish I was more willing to ask risks, live a loud life & seek the adventure in EVERY circumstance! Kayla’s portrait session was a breath of fresh air for me. I felt like I was able to create different images than my norm. I decided to embrace some of the out of focus images because I really felt like it captured the adventure, her free spirit & what life felt like at that very moment!
Here are just a few of my many favorite from Kayla’s portrait session! I hope you leave this post feeling inspired & refreshed!
